Design and artistic story
The reverse presents Noah kneeling before a burning altar, surrounded by animals and a landscape of hills and trees. The scene is transferred to a real porcelain insert, echoing the richly coloured devotional ceramics produced during the Renaissance. The obverse carries Malta’s official emblem together with the 5 euro denomination.
